Sunny Days, Zahra Anwar

Friend of Spring Creek •

Sunny Days (2026) $250.00 This piece explores the radiant warmth of summer and the tranquil coolness of water. Beneath the surface, an unseen world unfolds, evoking a sense of mystery, stillness, and quiet wonder. The painting invites the viewer to linger between what is known and what remains just beyond sight. Zahra Anwar Springdale, Arkansas Painting What is Spring Creek to you? This painting is inspired by time spent fishing along Spring Creek with my partner. Introduced to fishing through our time together, I became drawn to the quiet rhythm of the water and the intimacy of discovering a place together. Along the creek, we found a small pocket where families of sunfish gathered, a hidden, vibrant ecosystem that became a lasting memory and the inspiration for this work. https://www.instagram.com/dandereon

Sea of Blue, Monica Diodati

Friend of Spring Creek •

Sea of Blue (2026)(not for sale)I spent the day at Spring Creek. (I’m leaving this short because I’d prefer to not have a detailed description of the work on the website. But to answer the question, the piece is a video I took mostly over the course of one day at Spring Creek, the spot near the Ozark Highlands Nature Center. I made it because it felt like I had to, and it matters to me because I think it captures some hopes and fears I have around water and connectivity, water and history, water and lineage, water and me.) Monica DiodatiBella Vista, ArkansasFilmmaking & Multimedia Art, Written Word What is Spring Creek to you?I was worried that my connection to Spring Creek wasn’t specific enough at first, only anecdotal, fleeting. So maybe my connection to Spring Creek is one of worry. While editing the video, I found myself thinking about a book I took from my grandmother’s house, about a woman capsizing in the sea. I wanted my grandmother to have been the artist, but she wasn’t. Maybe my relationship to Spring Creek is also one of desperation, desperation for a connection that I’m worried isn’t there.

Current: Park to Pump, Julia Redmon

Friend of Spring Creek •

Current: Park to Pump (2026) $314.00 Current: Park to Pump is a hanging lamp turned from red oak sourced in Springdale. Its body traces the contour of Spring Creek as it runs northwest from Park Street to the Pump Station Road bridge, through downtown Springdale. I let the creek’s current set the lamp’s rhythm, timed to the actual minutes it takes the water to flow from Park to Pump. The light stays on for that stretch, then switches off for the bike back up to Park Street to catch it again. I made this piece to find my way back to a memory. I grew up in Strasburg, Virginia, where the Town Run cut through the center of everything, and my friends and I spent whole summers along the banks: catching crawdads, floating leaf boats just to see how far they’d go. Spring Creek gave me an unexpected way back to that feeling. At this point in my life, I’m chasing that childlike joy again. I stood at Park Street, let my body remember the uncontrollable laughter, the curiosity, the architectural marvel of stick masts. I felt home. Julia Redmon Bella Vista, Arkansas Natural Materials / Found Objects What is Spring Creek to you? I’m living in Bella Vista and new-ish to NWA. Perrodin Supply drew me to Springdale’s creative spirit and creek spirit. Spring Creek mirrors the Town Run that flows through downtown Strasburg, VA, where I grew up: the same slow current, the same winding banks. At the Park Street crossing this summer, I recognized the pull. Now I go back for dips with friends, for some of the joy I’d misplaced, and to hear what the creek is saying. https://www.instagram.com/juliaofthevalley/

Creekside Bluffs, Elsa Carenbauer

Friend of Spring Creek •

Creekside Bluffs (2026) $150.00 This mixed media piece is built from dryer sheets, sequins, and tree bark to form a layered composition inspired by the limestone bluffs of the Ozarks. Purple, red/coral, and blue/aqua tones reference the shifting light across the bluff faces at dawn and dusk. Sequins reflect the glint of sunlight on wet stone and water below the cliffs. The work uses recycled and repurposed materials to echo the erosion and weathering found in the bluffs themselves. Elsa Carenbauer Fayetteville, Arkansas Mixed Media & Collage, Natural Materials / Found Objects What is Spring Creek to you? Landscapes carry history the way bodies do — through accumulation, through what’s been worn away, through what remains visible and what stays hidden beneath the surface. Spring Creek and the Ozarks are home to my family, who came from different backgrounds and landed here. The Buffalo River is where we spent our summers, holding memories with loved ones I still carry. Its sediment, built up over time, and its blending of water and stone reflect that same layering in me. https://www.nobonesleft.com/ https://www.instagram.com/nobonesleft/

Watersnake (2026) $150.00 This mixed media piece is built from dryer sheets, spray insulation foam, collage, and embroidery to form a layered landscape inspired by Spring Creek, Arkansas. White and green tones reference the creek’s limestone and algae-covered waterline, while a watersnake sits at the center as the piece’s focal point. The work uses recycled and repurposed materials to echo the natural processes of erosion and renewal found in the landscape itself. What the Kingfisher Saw, Jan Murray Brown

Friend of Spring Creek •

What the Kingfisher Saw (2018) (not for sale) What the Kingfisher Saw Here is one way that I see God’s love at work in my daily life: each morning as my day begins, I go to my little attic studio that looks out over the back yard. There I sit, contemplate and sing HU. In my work as a quiltmaker, I love to express my creativity with colors and fabrics. I also love nature: flowers, birds, long walks on Spring Creek. When I cross a certain footbridge on the trail where I walk, I hear a sound: tut-tut-tut-tut-tut: it is the Kingfisher! He is elusive, so I sing him a little greeting and keep on walking. We are kindred spirits; we are dressed alike. We both wear black and white and cobalt blue for our outings. Back in my studio, I start a new project. I cut 5″ squares of bright flowers and stretchy them out randomly on the design wall. As I am looking for inspiration, the kingfisher and his song are in my awareness and I decide to use black and white and cobalt blue to sash the flowers together…and soon a quilt is coming together on the wall. It is surprising, even to me, the maker. I walk away from it and come back later to see if the design is working still. A new quilt is becoming…full of God’s love and all the things I love: “what the Kingfisher saw!” I love to imagine that Kingfisher soaring and diving and claiming his creek. (Thanks to Blake for sharing such a beautiful life and the poetic name he gave this quilt.) Jan Murray Brown Springdale, Arkansas February 23, 2018 Jan Murray Brown Springdale, Arkansas Textile & Fiber Art, Written Word, Other (Please specify) What is Spring Creek to you? I love Spring Creek. Mostly I walk it from Turnbow Park, out to the west; and around Lake Springdale and on towards the Nature Center. I consider it one of Springdale’s finest treasures…for the water, the wildlife, the sounds, the trails, the planting, the people who enjoy their walk or their ride…all of that refreshes me from the inside out. I am delighted to see Spring Creek honored with community art. And I hope to see Spring Creek respected and nurtured by Springdale’s citizens.

Sunset at Spring Creek, Kayla Moore

Friend of Spring Creek •

Sunset at Spring Creek (2026) $665.00 I am incredibly grateful for our local waterways. Being immersed in nature, especially the water, has been particularly impactful during a season of solo exploration and reconnection to self that I find myself in. The reference photo for this piece was taken in early summer of this year. I had taken myself on an artist date with the sole intention of experiencing the sunset, which is how I found myself with the water flowing around my ankles and the sunlight reflecting up at me. Although I didn’t know at the time that the water I was standing in was named Spring Creek, I definitely knew that we were friends. I wanted to capture a feeling of peaceful resilience with this painting. It was made using acrylic paint on a 12″ x 16″ stretched canvas. Kayla Moore Fayetteville, Arkansas Painting What is Spring Creek to you? Spring Creek provided me with a steady presence in a unstable time. It reminded me that we can flourish in the midst of chaos, or even because of it. https://www.instagram.com/kaylarmooreart/ https://kaylarmooreart.com/
