Colied, Heather Moore

Friend of Spring Creek •

Colied (2025) $770.00 My piece represents the beauty and balance of a healthy aquatic ecosystem. Inspired by Spring Creek, it highlights the life that exists within and around the water and the important role each living being plays. I wanted to reflect our connection to wildlife and the responsibility we share to respect and protect the natural world. This piece is a reminder to slow down, look closely, and recognize the beauty, purpose, and value in all living things around us. Heather Moore Fayetteville, Arkansas Painting What is Spring Creek to you? As both a mother and a teacher, Spring Creek is a place where I have enjoyed spending time with my children, exploring and appreciating the beauty of nature together. It reminds me how much there is to discover right within our reach and in our own backyard here in Northwest Arkansas. I love that nature has the ability to extend learning at any age, while also teaching us to slow down, notice the small things, and care for the world around us. https://www.instagram.com/hlmoore54/

Raccoon at Night, Matthew Nurre

Friend of Spring Creek •

Raccoon at Night (2026)$535.00My goal for this photo was to document and capture the various wildlife that visits Spring Creek, especially at night. Walking the creek, I found remote spots that had high animal activity and set up my custom motion sensor camera as well as some flashes. What you see are some examples of animals that depend on the creek for their needs. Matthew NurreSpringdale, ArkansasPhotography What is Spring Creek to you?The only way to get to the spots that I’ve put my camera is to walk the creek. During the many trips back and forth I’ve become fairly familiar with the sections that I’ve walked. I’ve come across box turtles, know where the common carp like to eat, and what branches the belted kingfisher likes to hunt from. Becoming intimate with a section of nature is one of my favorite parts about spending time outside. https://matthewpnurre.myportfolio.com/https://www.instagram.com/matthew_nurre/

Spring Creek near Hunt Family Ozark Nature Center, Evelyn Jorgenson

Spring Creek near Hunt Family Ozark Nature Center (2026) $450.00 The painting is of the rocky area along Spring Creek that is behind the Hunt Family Ozark Nature Center. I go there frequently to walk the trail and to just soak in the natural beauty of the area. Venturing off the trail toward the creek is always exciting because the creek has its own personality and is always different depending on the weather and the rains feeding the creek. I could paint there every day and always find something different and interesting about this beautiful natural area! Evelyn Jorgenson Rogers, Arkansas Painting What is Spring Creek to you? I go to the Hunt Family Ozark Nature Center frequently to walk the trail and to just soak in the natural beauty of the area. Going off the trail toward the creek is always exciting. The creek has its own personality and is always different depending on the weather conditions, the amount of rain; even the shadows cast by the clouds and the sun cause differences. I could paint there every day and always find something different and interesting about this beautiful natural area! https://ejorgensonfineart.artcall.org https://instagram.com/evelynjorgenson

Spring Creek Spirit Vessel, Brandon Weston

Friend of Spring Creek •

Spring Creek Spirit Vessel (2026)(not for sale) Spirit vessels work on the principle of embodiment. In Spiritism and many folk traditions that have Spiritism as a foundation, embodiment is the view that spirits can take on a physical form in order to experience the world in a different way and learn the lessons they need to learn in order to evolve and elevate. A spirit vessel isn’t a trap, it isn’t a prison, it’s a tool a spirit can use to experience the world. I like to compare it to a submarine, which gives us humans the opportunity to experience a part of the world we normally wouldn’t given our physical limitations. Spring Creek doesn’t need embodiment. As a spirit it has its own life, desires, motivations, and aspirations. But, sometimes even spirits who don’t need embodiment might still want it in order to do some work they need to do or experience life in a different way. A spirit vessel is a body for the disembodied. My initial planning involved asking two main questions to Spring Creek, which it was able to answer through a divinatory system I use called Geomancy. 1) Do you want embodiment? and 2) If given embodiment, will you use it for the benefit, healing, growth, and wise guidance of all beings? Both questions yielded a neutral water element indicator tending towards auspiciousness, which I interpreted as Spring Creek being ready for whatever adventure awaits–a very watery approach, I expected nothing less from a creek. The spirit vessel was created and birthed on the new moon August 12th and empowered daily using prayer and ritual for the entire waxing cycle. It was then sealed with this power on the full moon in Pisces (an auspicious water element moon.)    The vessel itself is a large glass jar that contains holestones and other rocks from the creek, Arkansas quartz, gemstone chips, tumbled crystals, a large reddish holestone found at Spring Creek for its heart, as well as living creek water. It has a face that I painted on a piece of slate I found at the creek, as well as some additional adornments including a rattlesnake vertebra necklace, shawl, and necklace made from beads I carved and a Spring Creek holestone.     My intention starting off the project was to let Spring Creek speak and act however it wanted to without my own expectations getting in…

Grasses, Alexander Lashley

Friend of Spring Creek •

Grasses (2025) $550.00 Grasses is a drawing of streambank vegetation — the tall stands that grow where water meets land, hold the soil in place, and filter what comes off the ground before it reaches the creek. It is a vital part of a watershed and does much of the work for its preservation. I drew it in pen and ink, in motion, the whole stand laid over by wind. Grass on a bank is never still; it registers every movement of air the way the creek registers every rain. My own relationship to Spring Creek is mostly this — walking the edges and looking at what grows there. Alexander Lashley Fayetteville, Arkansas Painting, Drawing & Illustration, Printmaking What is Spring Creek to you? Spend a week drawing a stand of creek grass and it stops being a plant and becomes a record. Every stalk is bent in the direction of weather that has already passed. Nothing on a bank stands upright for long — what lives there lives by giving way and coming back. The creek rises and falls on a schedule none of the plants agreed to, and they adapted by refusing to be rigid. That is what I have learned from it, and it is why I feel its worth recording. https://egoillustrations.com https://www.instagram.com/ego.illustrations/
