I was inspired by the thought of the creek being an active participant in the making of this piece. I spent time by the water taking in the surrounding wildlife and foliage. Using the sun on the banks of the creek, some clover nearby and the water flowing from the pump station into spring creek this cyanotype print came to life. The process allowed the creek, sunlight, and surrounding landscape to become part of the work itself, rather than simply being subjects I was observing. For me, the piece is a reflection of spending time with Spring Creek and allowing the place to shape the work in its own way.

What is Spring Creek to you?
Spring Creek has become a staple location in my life here in Springdale. Walking the greenway, watching a parade, or airplanes taking off and landing at the airport, creating community at the park while watching Mexico play in the World Cup. Spring Creek has been winding itself into core memories of mine for the past 3 years of me living here.
