My most vivid memory of Spring Creek was a cold, gloomy day in April 2020. My partner and I were deep in the throes of the sleepless nights of parenting – trying to survive as a family unit and navigate the uncertainties of the pandemic. We bundled up our little one, brought him to Thunder Chicken Trailhead, and watched as he explored the creek in wonder, immune to the worries around him. He loved choosing pebbles from the bank, lobbing them into the air, and watching them splash into the water. The creek provided the backdrop for us to create a little moment of joy and gave our family the soothing balm we didn’t know we needed.
