Green Heron (2,026)
$$770.00
I was Plein Air painting in downtown Springdale with a group of artists, the Plein Air painters of the Ozarks. While walking on the trail, I noticed a bird in Spring Creek. I took some photos of it in the water. Then, it flew and I got a good photo of it flying away. I wanted to paint it because it shows that there is wildlife at the creek and how the green Heron is somewhat camouflaged.

What is Spring Creek to you?
Spring Creek feeds into the broader Illinois River drainage basin, which supplies drinking water to northwest Arkansas and neighboring Oklahoma communities. The Illinois River Watershed Partnership, frequently organizes cleanups, buffer restorations, and community education events along Spring Creek to protect its water quality.
I was artist-in-residence at the Illinois River Watershed Partnership and created a cave inside, with sculpted plants and animals that live inside and outside a cave.
